Coroner: Girl, 16, drowns in Shrewsbury Twp. pool
A 16-year-old girl drowned in her Shrewsbury Township home pool Tuesday night, according to the York County Coroner's Office.
Siobhan Sutherland, of Harrison Road, was found unresponsive in the pool at her home about 8 p.m. According to the coroner's office, the girl wandered off to the pool area without her family's knowledge and was found by a family member.
She received emergency medical care at the scene and was taken to WellSpan York Hospital, where her condition deteriorated, according to the coroner's office.
She was pronounced dead at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday.
Her cause of death was drowning, with the manner accidental, according to the coroner's office. There will be no autopsy.
