Schreiber sponsoring photo contest
Yorkers with a knack for photography will have a chance to have their photos shown publicly after this summer.
Rep. Kevin Schreiber, D-York City, announced Friday he is sponsoring the #SweetSummerYork summer photo contest for people middle-school aged to adults. The photos are to promote arts and tourism throughout the county.
The contest is open through Aug. 31, and the winning photos will be featured in Schreiber's office as his fall art installation.
The pictures cannot include people and must be taken in the 95th House District, so only photos taken in York City, West York, Spring Garden Township and West Manchester Township are eligible.
Contestants must upload their photos to Instagram and label them with the hashtags #SweetSummerYork and #exploreyorkpa, according to a release.
There is no limit to how many photos may be submitted. The pictures will be judged by a panel of local photographers, according to the release.
Students should include their grade and school, and other participants should include their name and where they live. All should include the location of the photo.
