A 34-year-old Fawn Grove man has been identified as the person who died in Thursday evening's single-car crash on Interstate 83.

Jonathan Shanberger, of the first block of Rocks Road, died when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving about 6:11 p.m., causing him to be ejected as it rolled over, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Shanberger did not appear to have been wearing a seat belt, and he was pronounced dead at the scene just south of the Loganville exit. The coroner's office posted on its Twitter page that there will be no autopsy, and the manner of death is accidental resulting from multiple blunt force injuries.

State police said Shanberger lost control of the Toyota Tercel he was driving, which left the highway, struck an embankment and was propelled into the air.

The car rolled several times and ended up stopping in the middle of the southbound lanes, police said.
