Harrisburg mosque offers prayer service for Orlando victims

A prayer service will be held at 8:15 p.m. Sunday at Haadee Mosque for the victims of a shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando that has killed 50 and wounded 53.

The service will be held at the mosque, 245 Division St., Harrisburg. The mosque is part of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

The Orlando shooter has been identified as Omar Mateen.

“This is really tragic and sad,” said Nasim Rehmatullah, national vice president of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, in a news release. “Reverence for all human life is the essence of Islamic teaching. This is a time for prayers and efforts to stop such senseless violence in our nation.”
