Weekend repairs to affect traffic near Harrisburg
Pavement repair work will affect drivers on the Eisenhower Interchange over the next few weekends.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, repairs will start this weekend with the ramp from northbound Interstate 283 to northbound Interstate 83.
The ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until no later than 5 a.m. Monday, according to a news release.
Traffic will be detoured from northbound Interstate 283 to eastbound Route 322 and then directed on westbound 322 to northbound I-83, according to the release.
There will be three additional weekends of repairs, according to the release.
During June 17 through June 20, northbound I-83 through the interchange is scheduled to be closed. The detour will use eastbound Route 322 and westbound Route 322 back to northbound I-83, according to PennDOT.
From June 24 through June 27, southbound I-283 through the interchange will be closed. The detour will direct vehicles around the closure using the ramp for southbound I-83 at Exit 47 for Derry Street to Eisenhower Boulevard, and then onto southbound Route 441 to the ramp for southbound I-283, according to PennDOT.
For July 8 through 11, southbound I-83 will be closed. The detour will direct drivers to use the southbound I-283 ramp to southbound Route 441, to the ramp for northbound I-283 and the back to southbound I-83, according to the release.
