Sheriff: Warrant sweep nets 29 arrests

The York County Sheriff's Office Criminal Response Unit served 95 warrants over a two-week period, resulting in 29 arrests, according to a news release.

A former central Pennsylvania high school teacher is heading to prison after he was convicted of changing the grades of female students in exchange for nude pictures.

Between May 16 and 27, a total of 23 York County Court of Common Pleas bench warrants were served along with five criminal warrants. Two York County Domestic Relations bench warrants were served, as was a Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas bench warrant. A Commonwealth of Pennsylvania bench warrant and 63 York County Magisterial District Justice summary warrants also were served.

Among the warrants served, six were for DUI, and six had to do with theft. Three warrants were served on drug possession charges, and one warrant was for carrying a firearm without a license.
