The Latino-services organization that moved into York City Hall a few months ago plans to hold a fair on Saturday.

The CASA organization's fair will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Lincoln Charter School, 559 W. King St.

The event will focus on teaching about areas such as applying for for citizenship, workplace rights, filing income taxes and registering to vote, according to a news release from the organization.

In the release, the local branch of the national organization stated that demand for Latino services in south-central Pennsylvania has skyrocketed.

CASA says there are more than 24,000 Latinos living in York County. Many live in York City; more than 30 percent of the county seat's population of over 45,000 speaks Spanish.

The organization — whose name is the Spanish word for "home" — will offer child care, food and Zumba at the fair, too, according to the event's Facebook page.

CASA is a national organization whose mission is "to create a more just society by building power and improving the quality of life in low-income immigrant communities."
