The York County District Attorney's Office will conduct its Spring Auction Monday, offering up more than 40 cars, trucks and motorcycles seized in drug forfeitures for sale to the highest bidder.

All of the money raised goes to support the York County Drug Task Force, said Kyle King, chief administrator for the district attorney's office.

"We hold ( the auctions) every Black Friday and Memorial Day," King said.

Among the vehicles for auction are a Big Dog Chopper, three motorcycles, two Audi's and several pickup trucks.

The auction will take place at 10 a.m. outside the Schaad Detective Agency, Inc., 1114 Roosevelt Ave., in York. Also up for sale will be numerous small items of various value, such as televisions, electronics and video gaming systems, according to a press release.

The Drug Task Force is funded solely by drug forfeiture money, King said

"Not a single dime of taxpayer money is used" for expenses such as facilities, salaries and equipment, he said.

According to the press release, all vehicles and merchandise will be sold, "as is," with no warranties or guarantees. Successful bidders will have to put a minimum payment of $500 down for all vehicle purchases and pay the remaining balance within seven days. Title, tag and notary services will be available on site. No checks will be accepted, the release said.

The vehicles are on display now at the Schaad Detective Agency.
