Police say a Penn Township man stole $120 worth of liquor from a restaurant and then drunkenly chased a man with a 5-foot-long 2x4 last week.

Eric S. Ordway, 39, of 644 Frederick St., is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count each of burglary, criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, according to charging documents.

Penn Township Police say Ordway threw a drill through the rear door of Staub's Landing, 612 Frederick St., after the restaurant closed May 17. While there, police allege he took three bottles of liquor, valued at $120.

And then while in front of his residence, Ordway, drunk, chased a man and attempted to hit him with a 5-foot-long wooden 2x4, police said.

Penn Township Police Chief Jim Laughlin said Ordway was found fighting the man a few hours after the alleged theft. When officers were on the scene at Ordway's residence, they found the stolen liquor, Laughlin said.

Ordway remains in York County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
