Yorkers will have an opportunity Monday to learn more about protecting their children.

The Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance will be hosting The Front Porch Project, a community gathering meant to empower parents to better protect their children, from 9 a.m. until noon Monday at the Dillsburg Brethren in Christ Church, 18 E. Harrisburg St., according to a release.

The event combines discussions, videos and activities to develop strategies to diffuse real-life situations involving potential harm to children, according to the release.

The Kid's Trust and Family Promise of the Harrisburg Capital Region will be co-sponsoring the event.

The event is free and open to the public. To register, contact Krissy Miller at (717) 737-1100 or fphcrdirector@gmail.com.
