All you have to do is trade a pint of blood for two lawn tickets.

WellSpan's York Blood Donor Center at Apple Hill, 25 Monument Rd Suite 198, is kicking off its summer collections early, holding a blood drive this week. People who donate at the center between Monday and Friday will be given two York Revolution lawn-seat tickets that can be used for any home games during the 2016 season.

“Our goal is to have a stocked blood bank to start the summer, which will be difficult this year,” Lori Topper, division manager of blood resources with WellSpan Health, said in a news release. “Summer is traditionally our slow season, and a slow winter and spring have affected our supply. However, we know plenty of people will step up to the plate, and it’s great to have a community partner like York Revolution to help bring people together for a cause that benefits folks right here in central Pennsylvania.”

WellSpan partners with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank and acquires about half its blood through the blood bank.

Donations made at the Blood Donation Center at Apple Hill are used to help patients at WellSpan facilities. Appointments to donate can be made for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

For more information on donating blood or to schedule an appointment, call the donor center at 717-741-8307 or the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank at 1-800-771-0059.
