An invitation to Arlington National Cemetery to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns started a journey to a final resting place for Spc. Zachary Clouser.

Clouser, a 2005 graduate of Dover Area High School, was killed in action July 18, 2007, in Iraq. His mother and stepfather, Deb and Ron Etheridge, have kept his cremated remains in a makeshift shrine in their Dover home since then, but after a trip to Arlington National Cemetery last summer, Deb decided it was time for her son to be with his comrades in arms.

Spc Zachary Clouser laid to rest

After months of calls, paperwork and arrangements, Clouser and his family were escorted by members of the Guardian Knights and American Legion Riders motorcycle clubs to Washington, D.C., Friday, where Clouser was laid to rest with full military honors in Section 60 at Arlington. His maternal grandparents, Franklin Turner, a Korean War veteran, and his wife, Esther, were interred in a niche near their grandson.
