Former President Bill Clinton makes surprise visit to Lancaster
Former President Bill Clinton made an impromptu visit to a café in Lancaster on Sunday evening, where he mingled with customers and posed for pictures while campaigning for his wife, former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
The former President dropped in at the Prince Street Café, across the street from the historic Fulton Theater, for about 45 minutes giving the owners of the café a 20-minute heads up that he was on the way.
According to reports, Clinton talked to customers about why he thinks his wife should be president and campaigned for votes for her in Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary.
Clinton is no stranger to Lancaster, having visited the city in 2005 as the keynote speaker at the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce dinner. He also made an impromptu visit to Harrisburg last week while campaigning for his wife.
The former President has won the Pennsylvania Primary twice (1992, 1996) and the ex-secretary of State won it in 2008, beating President Barack Obama with 54.6 percent of the vote.
