Domestic shooting in York City
One person was shot in the ankle near a York City apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, police said.
It happened in the 200 block of Park Street.
York City Police Chief Wes Kahley said in a text message that the shooting was domestic-related. He said a suspect is in custody and a weapon has been recovered. He did not have names to release at the time.
About 3:30 p.m., York City Police were investigating the parking lot of an apartment complex on that block, where a green van with a shattered window was parked in the lot.
A man was taken from the scene by police, but it was not clear what involvement, if any, he had in the shooting. Police left the scene close to 5 p.m.
Neighbor Lori Dismond was coming home from work when she saw police.
"I've been here for over 20 years and we never had this," she said.
Dismond said she was shocked when she saw the officers. After the shooting, she said she would be more careful in the neighborhood.
"I have to be, because you don't ever know what's going to happen next," she said.
