Police: York City house fired upon at least 10 times
No one was hurt Sunday night when someone repeatedly fired a gun at a York City house, police said.
At least 10 bullets were fired at the house in the 100 block of South Pine Street at 9:30 p.m., according to York City Police Lt. Troy Bankert, who supervises the city detective bureau.
Officers were dispatched there after a witness heard gunfire and called 911, the lieutenant said.
The house was struck a number of times, he said, and at least one bullet entered the home through a window.
Bankert said the report does not state whether anyone was home at the time and also doesn't say whether the house is a single-family home or an apartment building.
Investigators believe the house was targeted, "but we don't know who" was being targeted, Bankert said.
Anyone with information about the gunfire can call York County Crime Stoppers at (717) 755-TIPS, or call York City Police during normal business hours at (717) 846-1234, or text a tip to "Yorktips" to 847411.
