Two teens are accused of shooting a dog with a pellet gun during a home invasion earlier this month in Windsor Township.

A resident of the 800 block of Lombard Road heard a loud noise coming from the back of his home around 2:30 p.m. April 4, according to York Area Regional Police. When he investigated, he reportedly saw two teens trying to get into the house through the back door.

The victim closed the door and held it shut, but the teens were able to open it enough to shoot a pellet gun inside the room, hitting the family dog in the paw, according to police.

During the struggle, the victim recognized one of the two teens and asked what they were doing, police said. The teens then left the home, although within a few hours two suspects were custody, police said.

York Area Regional spokesman Sgt. Peter Montgomery said Ethane Sanchez, 19, and a juvenile are charged in the incident.

Sanchez remains in York County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
