Coroner: Passenger killed in Chanceford Township car crash
A 70-year-old woman from Brogue was killed in a two-car accident in Chanceford Township on Monday night, according to the York County Coroner's office.
Sandra Howard, of the 200 block of Delta Road, was a passenger in one of the vehicles and died around 7:49 p.m., according to the coroner's office.
According to state police, one vehicle was traveling north on Delta Road and another was traveling north on Route 74. The accident occurred just north of Bacon road, according to the state police.
According to police, a witness driving south on Route 74 told officers the vehicle traveling north was weaving across the center line. A second vehicle stopped in the southbound lane to avoid a collision. The northbound vehicle crossed over the southbound lane, struck an embankment and became airborne before landing on the passenger side of the stopped car, killing the passenger.
More details will be released following an autopsy, which has been scheduled for Tuesday morning at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, according to the coroner's office.
Both drivers were uninjured, according to the coroner's office.
