Police investigating attempted burglary at Spring Grove restaurant
Police are investigating the attempted burglary of a Spring Grove restaurant Saturday morning, according to a release from Southwestern Regional Police.
According to police, around 12:30 a.m., two men tried to get into the Papertown Dairy Bar and Restaurant on 267 N. Main St. Police say the men used a black- and silver-colored semi-automatic pistol to shoot a glass door to the back of the restaurant three times. The men arrived on foot in the parking lot and had a hand truck with them, according to police.
Southwestern Regional Police Sgt. Jamie Stalcup said the man who fired the gun at first had the safety on and tried firing the gun three or four times.
“He doesn’t realize how to work the gun,” Stalcup said.
After that he walked into the shadows where the other suspect was, and when he came back the safety was off. The man then fired three shots at the door.
"The effect of the three shots were three quarter-size holes in the glass," Stalcup said.
After not being able to get in, the men left.
One of the attempted burglars is described as a man with a thin build, and the other is a man with a medium to heavy build, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to call Southwestern Regional Police at (717) 225-1333.
