Now there's Korean food, family photos and plenty more cupcakes.

A ribbon-cutting event at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Central Market, 34 W. Philadelphia St. in York City, focused on five new merchants in the market: Just Cupcakes, Korean BBQ Cup, Mudpies N Butterflies Photography, Galley Snacks and Everything Beyond Bakery.

Just Cupcakes isn't trying to trick you with its name — it sells cupcakes. It shares an area in the market with Mudpies N Butterflies Photography, which specializes in shooting maternity and family portraits, said Natalie Williams, the small-business liaison for Downtown Inc, a quasi-governmental city organization that focuses on revitalizing the downtown area.

Downtown Inc organized the event along with the market.

"It's just really a way for us to partner with the market," which is a big draw to the downtown area, Williams said.

Korean BBQ Cup is also self-explanatory, selling cups of rice, noodles and Korean-style meat; Williams said she'd just had a beef cup for lunch on Tuesday, and it had been very tasty.

Galley Snacks features local samplings from the likes of York City Pretzel Co. and Wolfgang Candy.

Everything Beyond Bakery makes novelty cakes, cupcakes and cake pops, as well as some crocheted items for babies, according to Downtown Inc.

Located at the intersection of East Philadelphia and North Beaver streets, Central Market is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, though individual vendors' hours may vary.
