York County Sheriff's Office announces app

The Sheriff's Office of York County announced a new "York County, Pa., Sheriff App" that can be downloaded on Apple or Android devices, according to a release.

The app is a public outreach effort enabling the office to improve communication within the communities of the county, according to the release.

Here are some of the features included in the app:

• Most wanted: A list of most wanted fugitives, including pictures, charges and demographic information

• Submit-a-Tip: Allows user to text anonymous wanted or warrant tips and pictures

• Live feed: Provides link between app, K-9 Facebook page and the Sheriff's Office Facebook page and Twitter page

Other links on the app include: Meet the Sheriff, Contact Us, Join our Team, News, Events, Crime Prevention and Safety, Civil Process Division, Civil Case Status Search, Sheriff Sales, Firearms licensing, Fingerprinting, Criminal Response Unit, K-9 Unit, Honor Guard, Inmate Search, Megan's Law Search Alerts and Live Incident Status.

The app can be downloaded at the Apple App Store and on Google Play for free. The iPhone app may also be used on an iPad or iPod Touch.
