A 73-year-old Heidelberg Township man died Tuesday several hours after he was involved in a York Township car crash, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Burkey McKinney, of the 6000 block of Cannery Road, died at 3:55 p.m. in the trauma bay of York Hospital's intensive care unit after the car in which he was a backseat passenger was hit by another vehicle at 5:50 that morning, the coroner's office said.

The driver of the car McKinney was riding in had been waiting at a stop sign on Monument Road before pulling onto Grantley Road into oncoming traffic, according to the coroner's office. A car crashed into the car he was riding in, the coroner's office said.

McKinney was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the coroner's office.
