AG: Hellam Twp. man possessed child pornography
Agents from the state attorney general's office have filed child-pornography charges against a Hellam Township man.
Mark Matthew Santiago, 32, of 363B Buttonwood Lane, remains free on $75,000 bail, charged with two counts of child pornography and using a computer to further a criminal act, according to court records. The offenses are third-degree felonies.
He was arrested at his home Feb. 25 as a result of an undercover investigation on a peer-to-peer file-sharing network, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.
State agents executed a search warrant there that day and found files on Santiago's home computer that contained child pornography, the news release states.
He was arraigned Feb. 25 by District Judge Robert Eckenrode, who set Santiago's preliminary hearing for March 24, court records state.
Hellam Township Police assisted in the investigation, according to the release.
It is unclear whether Santiago has retained an attorney.
