Swimming competitions back for next 3 years

A pair of collegiate swimming competitions estimated to have brought $1.7 million into York County this winter will be back for the next three years, according to a news release from the York County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Swimmers participate in the Middle Atlantic Swimming Junior Olympics.

The Middle Atlantic Conference and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference swimming championships brought in more than $800,000 each, the bureau estimates.

Both have been held in the YMCA's Graham Aquatic Center on North Newberry Street in York City since 2014, and will take place there through 2019, the release states.

The event runs Thursday to Sunday, and also uses the Graham Aquatic Center, as well as the Central York Community Natatorium, the release states.
