West York man pleads no contest to raping a child
A West York man who on Monday pleaded no contest to child rape remains in York County Prison awaiting sentencing.
Delbert Craley Sr., 75, formerly of North Highland Avenue, has been locked up on since February 2015, when West York Police filed charges against him, according to prison records.
His sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 31, and he will have a Megan's Law hearing at that time to determine whether he is a sexually violent predator, according to court records.
Craley pleaded no contest to one count of child rape, a first-degree felony, court records state. In exchange, related charges were dismissed.
It is unclear whether a sentencing agreement was reached. Deputy prosecutor Kara Bowser and defense attorney John Hamme declined comment until after sentencing.
Charges against Craley's wife and co-defendant, 50-year-old Kim Craley, are still pending. She has a pretrial conference scheduled for April 18, according to court records.
Delbert Craley forced a 6-year-old girl to perform oral sex on him, then did the same to her and digitally penetrated her, court documents state.
He and Kim Craley also forced the girl to fondle and digitally penetrate Kim Craley, documents allege.
Delbert Craley threatened to beat the girl if she told anyone, according to court documents.
