A 56-year-old man has succumbed to injuries related to falling off a ladder at a Giant in Shrewsbury on Feb. 14, according to the York County Coroner's Office.


Steven Melhorn, of the 1900 block of Eberts Lane, died Sunday afternoon, according to the coroner's office.

Melhorn was working at Giant Feb. 14 when it is believed that he fell off a ladder. He was taken to York Hospital for treatment.

His condition stabilized during the week briefly but deteriorated this past Sunday, and he died. An autopsy conducted Tuesday morning confirmed Melhorn's cause of death to be pulmonary arterial thromboemboli due to complications from multiple blunt force trauma, according to the coroner's office. The manner was deemed accidental.

The coroner's office confirmed that the incident was reported to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the agency is investigating it.
