Northern York County Regional Police will sponsor the National Safety Council's "Defensive Driving" program, Saturday, April 9. The program will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the police department, 1445 E. Canal Road in Dover Township, according to a release.

The program is open to drivers 16 or older who have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and is also open to drivers 55 or older who have attended prior "Coaching the Mature Driver" programs.

Those attending are required to bring a bagged lunch with them.

The deadline to register is April 5, and registration can be done by calling Norther York County Regional Police at (717) 292-3647 or by filling out a registration form during the station's business hours,  8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The class is limited to 30 people and is filled on a first come, first served basis.
