Police: N.J. man raped girl, 14

Police say a New Jersey man brought a 14-year-old York City girl to a Manchester Township hotel and bound and raped her on Saturday.

Michael Robert Janeski, 37, of Edison, New Jersey, is charged with one count each of rape by forcible compulsion, aggravated indecent assault, sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with minors and three counts of involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old, documents state.

On Saturday night, York City Police were investigating a missing 14-year-old girl who had not been seen since the night before, documents state.

Investigation showed that the girl was picked up near her York City home by a man, later identified as Janeski, and taken to a room at the Wingate by Wyndham York, at 105 State St., documents state. Police say Janeski proceeded to make unwanted sexual advances to the girl and performed sexual acts on her while she was bound up by restraints.

Police were able to locate the girl, found with Janeski in the room, and she was returned to her family, documents state. Janeski was then taken into custody, according to police.

Originally, Janeski was charged with interference with custody of children, according to online court records and he was taken to York County Prison where he posted $150,000 bail.

Those charges were withdrawn, according to online court records, and on Feb. 18 he was arraigned with his new charges, according to documents. He remains in York County Prison on $750,000 bail.
