Police: Hanover man dead after crash

An elderly man died Saturday after his car crashed into a building in Hanover, according to a news release from police.


The 72-year-old Hanover man, whose name authorities are not releasing until they get in touch with his family, drove off the road around 3:23 p.m. at the intersection of East Middle and York streets and hit a building owned by Gobrecht Real Estate, according to Hanover Police.

Emergency medical personnel found him unconscious at the scene of the one-car crash and tried to resuscitate him, the release states. They took him to Hanover Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to police.

Penn Township Fire and EMS assisted police at the scene, according to the release.
