Man shot at while driving on Route 30 in York
One person was shot at while driving westbound on Route 30 Friday night, according to Springettsbury Township Police. Police say a man was driving westbound in a dark colored Subaru on Route 30, when he was shot at, and he pulled into the Subway parking lot at 1701 Whiteford Road and called 911. The call came in at 6:30, according to York County 911.
Police say the man was not hit, but he was taken by ambulance to the hospital for a precautionary examination. The vehicle's windows were broken and the passenger-side rear-view mirror was damaged, but it was not clear if that was pre-existing damage.
The victim told police an unknown subject shot at him as he traveled westbound on Route 30, police said. The suspected vehicle is a dark in color truck with smoke stacks in the bed of the truck, and it was last seen traveling west on Route 30, police said.
At around 7:15, they closed down Route 30 westbound from the North Hills road traffic light to the Mount Zion Road exit to investigate. At around 7:30, a towtruck came to the scene and removed the car from the parking lot. At about 10 p.m., police reopened Route 30 westbound from North Hills to Mount Zion.
Employees at the Subway said they did not see anything as they were busy handling customers at the time.
