Police investigating assault on elderly man
The Hanover Borough Police Department is investigating a robbery, assault and theft that happened last year on the 200 block of Moul Avenue, according to a press release from PA Crime Stoppers.
On Monday. Jan. 5, 2015, at around 9 p.m., a 71-year old man arrived home and was confronted and assaulted by two unknown male suspects outside his home, according to the release.
The victim was taken into the residence, where the suspects confronted the victim's 73-year-old wife and proceeded to take money, coins and jewelry before fleeing, according to the release. The victim's wife was not injured, the release states.
The release states the suspects were described as males with thin builds, wearing dark clothes and gloves, and each had their faces covered during the incident. Both were armed with handguns, according to the release.
Anyone with information on this crime should call Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4PA-TIPS. All callers are anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward, according to the release.
