Voith to create new jobs in York
Gov.Tom Wolf announced Friday that an international engineering and manufacturing company, Voith Turbo Inc., will be establishing a Global Business Service Center and Centers of Competence, in West Manchester Township, which aims to create 37 new jobs.
The company will invest $825,000 to transform existing warehouse space into offices, retaining 577 positions and creating 37 new jobs over the next three years, according to a statement from the governor's office.
Voith is an engineering company in markets such as energy, oil and gas, paper, raw materials, transport and automotive, according to the relase. The company employs more than 20,000 people and operates in over 60 countries worldwide. Voith Hydro is headquartered in West Manchester Township.
Voith received a funding proposal from the state Department of Community and Economic Development that includes a $100,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant and $74,000 in job creation tax credits, officials say.
