An elderly man was killed Friday when he was struck by a pickup truck while pushing a snowblower in the road in Dover Township, according to police.

Glenn Shellenberger, 73, was struck by an 18-year-old driver around 11:22 a.m. Friday outside Shellenberger's home in the 5100 block of Harmony Grove Road, according to the York County Coroner.

Police say Shellenberger was pushing his snowblower near the road's center line around a curve when the truck, traveling west, hit him.

Shellenberger was taken to York Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:20 p.m., according to the York County Coroner. On Saturday, his cause of death was found to be multiple blunt force trauma and was deemed to be accidental, according to the coroner's office.

The driver of the Dodge pickup truck was not hurt, police say.

The road was closed for more than an hour.

Northern York County Regional Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the department at (717) 292-3647, or 911.
