Police: 2nd York man arrested in Lebanon killing
A second York-area man has been arrested by U.S. Marshals this week in connection with the September killing of a Lebanon bar bouncer.
The marshals tracked down Jared Donovan Jones, 25, at around 7 a.m. Thursday at a hotel in Hershey, according to a news release. They arrested him without incident but did find two .22-caliber handguns he had with him, the release states.
Marshals turned him over to local authorities in Lebanon County, where he faces charges of criminal homicide and related offenses.
Online court records show he's been charged with crimes in York County a few times, but not since 2010; he pleaded guilty to charges including of illegal possession of a firearm and drug offenses in 2011 and robbery in 2009.
This comes two days after Richard William Kinnard II, also 25 and from the York area, was arrested by marshals at a home in Tuscon, Arizona, in connection with the same killing.
Police say 31-year-old Bryan Corey was working security at Vinny's Gootimes bar in Lebanon, on Saturday, Sept. 19, when he threw out Kinnard after a "disturbance" right around 2 a.m. closing time.
Authorities say Kinnard walked to his vehicle, returned to the entrance of the bar with a handgun and fired several rounds into the building, striking Corey multiple times in the abdomen. He later died at a local hospital.
A 37-year-old woman was also struck in the hip by a bullet, but her wounds were not life threatening.
Also investigating the incident and helping track down the suspects were the York City Police Department, York County District Attorney’s Office, York County Sheriff’s Department, Northern York County Regional Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, Lebanon Police Department, Derry Township Police Department, Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, Harrisburg Bureau of Police and Dauphin County Office of Adult Probation.
