Firefighters were able to save a home on the 600 block of Lewisberry Road in Fairview Township after a fire broke out Tuesday afternoon.

The fire, which occurred around 1:45 p.m., started on the porch and spread into the adjoining garage and living room ceiling, according to Fairview Township Deputy Chief Eric Hawkins. He said the fire was doused quickly and the residents were not home during the fire. No firefighters were injured during the blaze.

Hawkins estimated the damage between $80,000 and $100,000. The Red Cross is assisting the residents.
