State Rep. Kevin Schreiber, D-York City, is teaming up with York City-based organizations to host a community fair and toy distribution Saturday.

The event, aptly named Three Kings Day Community Fair and Toy Distribution, will be held from noon to 2 p.m. in the William Penn Senior High School cafeteria, 101 W. College Ave. in York City, according to a news release from Schreiber's office.

Three Kings Day, commonly known as the Day of Epiphany, celebrates the Three Wise Men who gave gifts to baby Jesus.

In many Hispanic cultures, children leave their shoes and wish list out overnight for the Three Kings. The shoes are then filled with toys for when the children wake.

But you won't have to take off your shoes at Schreiber's event, which he's co-hosting with the Centro Hispano York, York County Hispanic Coalition, York City and the school district.

The event will feature prizes and gifts for attendees and community service organizations will be on hand to give out information, the release says.
