York Area Regional Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday morning, according a press release.

At around 9:15 Wednesday morning, officers were dispatched to a bank robbery at the People's Bank at 1 N. Main St. in Jacobus, police said.

Police say a black man approximately 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall, in his late 20s to early 30s and wearing all dark clothing entered the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding money.

The suspect put the undisclosed amount of money in a drawstring bag and fled the bank, according to police.

He was last seen running west on Valley Road, police said.
