Police: Bystander shot in York City
A woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries when she was caught in the middle of an argument that turned violent in York City on Wednesday night, according to police.
City resident Kimberly Metz, who's in her 20s, was in stable condition Thursday morning after being struck in the leg in arm by shotgun pellets near the intersection of West King and South West streets, York City Police Lt. Troy Bankert said.
Bankert said a verbal argument between some people in that area escalated, and at least one gunshot was fired from one car at another. That's the shot that hit Metz; the lieutenant said it's unclear whether the people in the vehicles exchanged more gunfire.
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call the York City Police Department at 846-1234.
