A New Freedom man allegedly threatened to terminate his wife's unborn child Friday. according to police.

Richard Dymond, 33, of Spruce Road, is charged with terroristic threats and criminal attempt to commit trespassing, according to charging documents.

Police say Dymond told them he and his wife had an argument earlier in the day, causing him to leave and come back around 10 p.m.

Dymond's wife told police she had friends over to open presents at the time when Dymond walked in in a "rage," according to charging documents.

She told police that Dymond said he did not want the baby, only their son.

She said Dymond told his wife's friend he had a 9mm Beretta and he would "terminate" the baby, police said. The friends left the residence after Dymond told them to, according to police.

Police say his wife left the residence with their son after her friend told her what Dymond had said. She and her son went to their neighbors, according to charging documents.

Dymond followed them to that home and pounded on the door, police said.

The neighbors answered and told him to leave, but he forced himself in, police said.

When one of the neighbor said they were calling the police, Dymond charged at her, documents stated. The neighbor said she feared for her life, police said.

Once police were called, Dymond left the residence, and officers caught up with him on their way over, police said.

Dymond was released on $5,000 bail.
