I-83 reopens after jackknifed tractor-trailer moved off highway

Interstate 83 southbound has reopened, according to a York County 911 Center supervisor.

REPORTED EARLIER:

A lunchtime tractor-trailer crash has closed Interstate 83 southbound at the Mount Rose Avenue exit, according to state police.

A jackknifed tractor-trailer has closed I-83 southbound at the Mount Rose Avenue exit, state police said on Dec. 23, 2015.

The crash happened at 12:36 p.m.Wednesday, according to the York County 911 Center. Minor injuries were reported, according to 911.

A tractor-trailer jackknifed across the southbound lanes stopping all traffic south of Exit 18, also known as the Mount Rose Avenue exit, state police said.

Traffic is gridlocked in the area, and officials on scene are reporting the southbound lanes are expected to be closed for several hours, according to 911 radio transmissions.
