The York County Drug Task Force seized 3,800 bags of heroin from a Philadelphia man Thursday morning, according to a press release.

Lamont Holmes, 37, was charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver heroin and is currently in York County Prison.

The task force began investigating in October, when a low-level heroin distributor from the Dallastown and Red Lion area was identified and arrested, according to a release.

After he was in custody, he reportedly identified several sources in York. As a result, the task force was able to identify those who were responsible for distributing larger quantities of heroin to multiple people in York City and Springettsbury Township.

The task force took them into custody, and they provided information leading to Holmes, who was arrested when he arrived in York on Thursday, according to the release.

During a search of the vehicle he was driving, several prepaid phones and a large quantity of heroin was found, according to a release.

The amount, if packaged in individual bags, would be 3,800 bags of heroin, according to the release.
