Motorcycle crash kills man in Newberry Township

A one-vehicle motorcycle crash killed a Dauphin County man Sunday afternoon in Newberry Township, according to Newberry Township police.

David Lawyer, 52, of the first block of North Union Street in Middletown, Dauphin County, died from blunt force trauma, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

The crash occurred around 4:20 p.m. at the 1200 block of Pines Road and Red Mill Road, according to 911. Lawyer failed to negotiate a curve while driving his motorcycle, according to the York County Coroner's Office. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the coroner's office.

The man was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Lawyer's family has been notified, and there will not be an autopsy.

A female passenger on the motorcycle suffered minor injuries during the crash, according to police.
