Springettsbury Township Police Department is offering a safe zone for people who exchanged items over the Internet.

For those with fear of giving a stranger their address, they may now meet up at the Springettsbury Township Police Department's lobby or parking lot to conduct transactions, such as those done over Craigslist, according to a news release.

The lobby is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the lobby and the parking lot has 24-hour surveillance. The police department asks no transactions take place after 10 p.m and that there are no firearms present. Those interested do not have to call ahead or make an appointment and police do not need to be present or involved during the transaction as the surveillance cameras will do the monitoring.

The exchange area can be found in the last two parking spots in front of the building.
