Police: York City woman busted with more than $3K in heroin
Officers with York City's nuisance-abatement unit raided a city home Wednesday, where they seized thousands of dollars worth of heroin, according to city Detective First Class Andrew Shaffer.
The raid at 305 Smyser St. netted $3,380 worth of heroin, drug-packaging materials and $220 cash, Shaffer wrote in a news release.
Officers arrested resident Simone Caprice Black, 35, who is charged with heroin possession with intent to deliver, Shaffer said.
Black was arraigned Wednesday by District Judge Joel Toluba and released on $25,000 unsecured bail, according to court records. Unsecured bail means Black didn't have to post any cash to remain free, but could forfeit that amount if she misses court proceedings.
York City narcotics officers assisted in the raid and arrest, Shaffer said.
The city's drug squad and nuisance-abatement unit regularly work together on investigations.
