A Stewartstown man allegedly headbutted his wife and threatened to break her arm Saturday, according to police.

James Edward Diemer Jr., 53, of 17265 Lutz Road, is charged with one count each of aggravated assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, terroristic threats, simple assault, driving without a license and one count of misdemeanor harassment and summary harassment, according to charging documents.

Officers who were called to Diemer's home for a report of a fight found him in his basement, slurring his words and wearing disheveled clothes, police said.

Diemer's wife told police she and Diemer got in a fight after he drove home drunk. He then drove to a restaurant, where she attempted to pick him up and drive him home, according to police.

Diemer refused, and his wife followed him home, where the argument continued, police said.

During the argument, Diemer head-butted her in the mouth and twisted her arm, saying he would "break it," documents stated.

She told police she grabbed a handgun, which Diemer then took from her and held to her head, according to police.

Police said officers gave Diemer field sobriety tests, which he failed.

He was released on $2,500 bail, according to documents.
