Exelon Generation, owner of generating station in Middletown, near Harrisburg, says the company will conduct its semi-annual system test on Thursday at 12:15 p.m. The test will last three minutes.

According to a company news release, it’s one of two full-volume tests performed each year.

The 96 sirens are located within 10 miles of the plant, and are in place to warn residents of a nuclear accident.
