On Friday, Dec. 4, York City's annual tree-lighting ceremony will take place in Continental Square.

From 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., activities at many locations around the city will be going on and there will be and a "visit from Santa" and free photos by Tyler Brown Photography. The tree will be lit at 6:15 p.m.

Liz Bell and Chris Tyler of WARM 103.3 will M.C. the event.

Some of the night's many highlights: Mudhook Brewing Co. and Central Market York will sell Christmas trees in Cherry Lane, Martin Library will offer crafts and Santa visits from 6:45 p.m. - 8 p.m and Mezzogiorno will hold a Dinner with the Elves for kids at Central Market York.

Motorists are advised to be careful in the area where activities are happening and the following streets will be closed from 4:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.: Market Street between Beaver Street and Duke Street and George Street between Philadelphia Street and King Street. Parking will be restricted in those areas beginning at 3:30 p.m.
