A Wrightsville man was found dead early Thanksgiving morning after he apparently lost control of the all-terrain vehicle he was operating in Chanceford Township near Red Lion.

Passersby came upon the accident at 768 Myers Road around 1:50 a.m. and found the operator's body in the roadway, according to York County Deputy Coroner Jeffri Goodfellow.

Zachary Hoffmaster Sr., 31, suffered blunt-force trauma to the head, and no autopsy will be performed, the coroner's office reported on its Twitter feed.

It appeared Hoffmaster, who was not wearing a helmet, rolled the ATV after losing control of it, Goodfellow said

State police are investigating the crash.
