A York City man was arrested Thursday for allegedly robbing a Turkey Hill Wednesday night, according to police.

Travon Mac Gilliam, 24, of 200 N. Duke St. Apt. 1008, is charged with robbery, according to police.

Police responded to an armed robbery at the Turkey Hill on 594 W. Market St. around 9 p.m. Wednesday night, where the cashier described two men who stole money along with cartons of cigarettes, according to police.

The cashier told police that one of the robbers was a regular customer there.

Police said a cashier reported Gilliam sitting on the curb outside the store around 6 p.m. Thursday. The cashier identified Gilliam as the one who was involved with the robbery the night before, according to police.

Gilliam was sent to York County Prison after being unable to post $50,000 bail.
