Wellspan Health spokesman to retire

After 33 years of service with Wellspan Health, spokesman Barry Sparks announced his plans to retire next month.

Sparks has spent the entirety of his time at Wellspan in the communications office and the majority of his three-plus decades as the company's spokesman.

Sparks, who has always enjoyed writing and has worked as a freelance writer, said he hopes to spend even more time doing so following his Dec. 4 retirement.

He also plans to continue offering his services and experience in public relations, emergency communications, and media assistance following his retirement, he said.

Sparks said Wellspan has yet to officially name his replacement, though he is sure the company will continue to facilitate connections between the media and healthcare professionals.
