Three dogs were safely removed from a North Codorus Township home where firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire today.

One of the dogs ran away, according to North Codorus Fire Chief Tim Carr, but it was tracked down and returned to the resident, who wasn't home at the time.

The damage was minor and stemmed from something burning on top of the stove, Carr said. The fire department was dispatched to the home on the 1800 block of Pin Oak Drive around 10:20 a.m. after a neighbor called 911.
